Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

Ephesians 3:20-21

Dear God, yes, to you be all the glory. Why? Because it’s not good for me to get glory. I mean, compliments are nice, and sometimes I seek them out. I like good affirmations. But if I start performing so that I can bring attention and respect to myself instead of just serving you then I will start down a terrible path.

So how do I do it? How do I get up and teach the men at Chrisrtian Men’s Life Skills on Monday nights and take my ego out of it? Honestly, my ego is part of what makes me work so hard. I want them to learn about you, but I confess that I want them to be impressed with me too.

Father, I don’t know that I have a lot of great answers to this question except that I just simply need to be reminded at times like this morning. You are the one who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all I can ask or think according to the power that works with me. It is you who needs the glory. At the end of the day, if people are drawn to me then they will be incredibly disappointed. However, if I take the opportunity to introduce them to you then you can work with them now and then leave a legacy to all generations forever and ever.
